Baked Apple Fritters

A healthier version of the classic fried fritters, these Baked Apple Fritters are low in calories and high in flavor, perfect for guilt-free indulgence.

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup sugar (or 1/2 cup coconut sugar)
  • 1 tablespoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1/2 cup milk (or almond milk)
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1/2 cup applesauce
  • 1 cup diced apples
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • Oil for frying (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and grease a baking sheet.
  2. Mix the dry ingredients: flour, sugar, baking powder, salt, and cinnamon in a large bowl.
  3. Prepare the wet ingredients: whisk together the milk, eggs, applesauce, and vanilla extract in another bowl.
  4. Combine the wet and dry ingredients, mixing gently until just combined.
  5. Fold in the diced apples.
  6. Drop spoonfuls of the batter onto the prepared baking sheet.
  7. Bake for 15-20 minutes or until golden brown on top.

Notes

For a healthier version, consider using whole wheat flour. Store leftovers in an airtight container for up to 3 days or freeze for up to a month.
