Blackberry Simple Syrup

A delightful and easy-to-make blackberry simple syrup that enhances drinks and desserts with fresh flavors.

Ingredients

  • 1 pint blackberries
  • Juice of half a lemon (about 1 tablespoon)
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 cup water

Instructions

  1. Place the blackberries, sugar, and lemon juice in a medium saucepan over medium heat on the stove.
  2. Use a fork to gently mash the berries to bring out the juices.
  3. Add the water and stir to combine.
  4. Allow the mixture to simmer for about 10 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the sugar is dissolved and the mixture has thickened slightly.
  5. Allow the mixture to cool to room temperature, then pour into a container over a fine-mesh sieve.
  6. Store blackberry simple syrup for up to 2 weeks in the fridge.

Notes

For healthier portions, aim for 1-2 tablespoons per serving. Consider using frozen blackberries if fresh ones aren’t available.
