Lavender Milk Tea

A delightful and soothing drink that combines the calming properties of lavender with rich creamy milk, perfect for a relaxing afternoon.

  • 2 cups milk (dairy, oat, or other plant-based milk)
  • 1 tablespoon lavender buds
  • 1 tablespoon honey
  • 1 tablespoon black or Earl Grey tea
  • Optional: sprig of mint

Instructions

  1. Combine the ingredients: In a heavy-bottomed saucepan, add 2 cups of milk, 1 tablespoon of honey, and 1 tablespoon of lavender buds.
  2. Heat the mixture: Turn the heat to medium and heat the mixture just until scalded, being careful not to boil.
  3. Let it steep: Remove the saucepan from heat and let the mixture steep for 2 minutes.
  4. Add the tea: Stir in 1 tablespoon of black or Earl Grey tea and optionally add a sprig of mint, then steep for an additional 2 minutes.
  5. Strain into cups: Use a fine-mesh strainer to strain the mixture into cups.
  6. Froth the remaining milk (optional): Reserve 1/2 cup of the milk mixture to froth for a latte-style finish.

Notes

Can be made diabetic-friendly by adjusting honey and using plant-based milk for a lower-calorie option.
