No Creamed Soup, No Mushrooms Green Bean Casserole

A delicious and healthy alternative to the classic green bean casserole, perfect for special occasions and meal prep.

Ingredients

  • Fresh Green Beans (1 pound)
  • Crispy Fried Onions (1 cup)
  • Grated Cheddar Cheese (1 cup)
  • Milk (1/2 cup)
  • Garlic Powder (1/2 teaspoon)
  • Onion Powder (1/2 teaspoon)
  • Salt and Pepper to Taste

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Blanch the green beans in boiling water for about 5 minutes, then drain in a colander.
  3. Mix the milk, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper in a mixing bowl.
  4. Combine the blanched green beans with the milk mixture, half of the crispy fried onions, and grated cheddar cheese in a baking dish.
  5. Top with the remaining crispy fried onions.
  6. Bake for 25-30 minutes until bubbly and golden brown.
  7. Serve hot and enjoy!

Notes

For a healthy version, consider using low-fat cheese and almond milk. This casserole can be prepared ahead of time and stored for up to 3 days.
