Red Apple Cider Sangria

A refreshing and healthier twist on traditional sangria, featuring fresh apples, spices, and red wine.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 3 Apples, sliced
  • 4 Cinnamon sticks
  • 1 Standard 750mL chilled bottle of Pinot Noir
  • 2 Cups cold apple cider
  • 1/2 Cup Grand Marnier liqueur
  • 3 Tablespoons pure maple syrup
  • 3 Tablespoons brown sugar for the rim
  • 1 Teaspoon cinnamon for the rim
  • 1 Orange wedge for the rim

Instructions

  1. Prepare the ingredients by slicing the apples into thin pieces and gathering all the ingredients together.
  2. Mix in the pitcher by adding the sliced apple pieces and cinnamon sticks, followed by the Pinot Noir, apple cider, and Grand Marnier. Drizzle in the maple syrup.
  3. Stir the mixture well to blend all the flavors and dissolve the maple syrup.
  4. Let it chill in the fridge for at least 30 minutes to meld the flavors together.
  5. Prepare the glasses by combining brown sugar and cinnamon on a plate, then running an orange wedge around the rims.
  6. Rim the glasses by dipping the wet rim into the cinnamon sugar mixture.
  7. Serve the sangria by filling each glass with ice and pouring the chilled sangria over the top, ensuring some apple slices and cinnamon sticks are included.
  8. Enjoy your refreshing, healthy drink immediately.

Notes

For a lighter drink, consider reducing the maple syrup or substituting with a sugar alternative. The sangria is great for meal prep and can be stored in the fridge for up to 2 days.
