Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9×13 inch baking pan.
  2. Melt the unsalted butter and chopped semi-sweet chocolate in a saucepan over low heat until smooth.
  3. Combine the granulated sugar and brown sugar into the melted mixture, mixing until smooth and glossy.
  4. Add the eggs, one at a time, stirring well after each addition, then mix in the vanilla extract.
  5. Mix the all-purpose flour, cocoa powder, and salt in a separate bowl.
  6. Combine the dry ingredients with the wet mixture using a spatula until just incorporated.
  7. Fold in the chopped pecans gently.
  8. Layer half of the brownie batter into the baking pan, drizzle salted caramel sauce, and top with the remaining batter.
  9. Bake for 30-35 minutes, checking for doneness with a toothpick.
  10. Cool for at least 20 minutes before slicing into squares.
