Refreshing Summer Sangria

A delightful mix of strawberries and blueberries in a light red wine, perfect for summer gatherings.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 bottle dry red wine
  • 1 cup fresh strawberries, hulled and quartered
  • 1 cup fresh blueberries
  • 1 orange, sliced
  • 1 lemon, sliced
  • 1 cup sparkling water
  • 1 tablespoon honey or agave syrup (optional)
  • Fresh mint leaves for garnish (optional)

Instructions

  1. Prepare your fruits by washing the strawberries and blueberries thoroughly. Hull the strawberries and slice them into quarters. For the oranges and lemons, slice them into rounds or wedges.
  2. Mix the sliced strawberries, blueberries, oranges, and lemons in a large pitcher.
  3. Add the red wine to the fruit mixture and stir gently.
  4. Sweeten to taste with honey or agave syrup, stirring to combine.
  5. Chill the pitcher in the refrigerator for at least 120 minutes.
  6. Add sparkling water just before serving to give it a refreshing fizz.
  7. Serve the sangria over ice, garnished with fresh mint leaves.

Notes

For the best flavor, let the sangria chill for a few hours. You can prepare it a day in advance but add sparkling water just prior to serving to maintain fizz.
