Slow Cooker Green Beans

A healthy and delicious side dish of fresh green beans cooked in a slow cooker, perfect for family dinners and meal prep.

  • 1 pound Fresh Green Beans, trimmed
  • 2 tablespoons Olive Oil
  • 1 teaspoon Salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon Pepper
  • 1 teaspoon Garlic Powder
  • 2 tablespoons Butter, cut into pieces
  • 1 cup Savory Broth (Vegetable or Chicken)
  • 1/2 cup Crispy Bacon, chopped (optional)

Instructions

  1. Rinse the fresh green beans under cold water to remove any dirt or debris and trim the ends of each bean.
  2. Coat the green beans with olive oil and sprinkle with salt, pepper, and garlic powder, then toss to ensure they are evenly coated.
  3. Transfer the seasoned green beans into the slow cooker and spread them out for even cooking.
  4. Add butter pieces over the beans and pour enough savory broth to cover them.
  5. Cover the slow cooker and cook on low for 4 to 6 hours until tender.
  6. Sprinkle crispy bacon on top before serving, if desired.

Notes

Leftovers can be stored in an airtight container for up to 3 days or frozen for up to 3 months. Experiment with different herbs for added flavor.
