Sparkling Pear Ginger Spritz

A refreshing and healthy drink combining the flavors of pear and ginger, perfect for parties or a warm day.

Ingredients

  • 2 ripe pears, peeled, cored, and sliced
  • 1 tablespoon fresh ginger, thinly sliced
  • 2 tablespoons fresh lemon juice
  • 2 tablespoons honey or honey syrup
  • 2 cups sparkling water or club soda (cold)
  • 1/4 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • Ice cubes (preferably large)
  • Fresh pear slices and crystallized ginger for garnish

Instructions

  1. In a blender, combine the peeled and cored pear slices with the fresh ginger slices.
  2. Add lemon juice and honey to the blender.
  3. Blend until smooth, about 1 minute.
  4. Pour the mixture through a fine mesh strainer into a pitcher, pressing gently on the solids to extract as much juice as possible.
  5. Add vanilla extract to the strained juice and stir well.
  6. Refrigerate the pear-ginger base until you are ready to serve.
  7. When ready to serve, fill elegant glasses with large ice cubes.
  8. Pour 1/4 cup of the pear-ginger base into each glass.
  9. Top each glass with 1/2 cup of cold sparkling water and stir gently to preserve carbonation.
  10. Garnish with a fresh pear slice and a piece of crystallized ginger. Serve immediately.

Notes

Best enjoyed fresh. Store the pear-ginger base in the refrigerator for up to three days.
