Texas Roadhouse Rolls

Warm and fluffy rolls perfect for any dinner, complemented by honey cinnamon butter.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup warm milk
  • 1 package or 2 1/4 teaspoons active dry yeast
  • 1/3 cup sugar
  • 3 1/2 cups all-purpose flour, plus more for the board
  • 1 egg
  • 1/3 cup butter, melted
  • 1/4 cup butter, melted (optional)
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • Honey Cinnamon Butter:
  • 1/2 cup softened butter
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 2 tablespoons honey
  • 2 tablespoons powdered sugar

Instructions

  1. Proof the yeast by stirring the warm milk, sugar, and yeast. Let it sit for 5 to 10 minutes until bubbles form.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, combine the flour, egg, 1/3 cup melted butter, and salt. Mix until combined.
  3. Pour the proofed yeast into the flour mixture and mix until a soft dough forms.
  4. Knead the dough on a floured surface for about 5 to 7 minutes until smooth and elastic.
  5. Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover, and let it rise in a warm place for about 1 hour or until doubled in size.
  6. Punch down the dough, divide into golf ball-sized pieces, and shape into balls.
  7. Place on a greased baking sheet, cover, and let them rise for another 30 minutes.
  8. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  9. Bake the rolls for 15 to 20 minutes or until golden brown.
  10. Mix the softened butter, cinnamon, honey, and powdered sugar for the honey cinnamon butter.
  11. Brush the rolls with extra melted butter and serve warm with honey cinnamon butter.

Notes

These rolls are best enjoyed warm and can be stored in an airtight container for up to 2 days or frozen for up to 2 months.
