Homemade Sweet Tea

A refreshing and customizable beverage, perfect for any season.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 8 Black tea bags
  • 3 cups boiling water
  • 3/4 to 1 cup sugar
  • 8 cups cold water
  • 1 lemon, sliced
  • Ice
  • Mint leaves (optional)
  • Raspberries (optional)
  • Sliced oranges (optional)
  • Sliced peaches (optional)

Instructions

  1. Place 8 teabags in a large measuring cup or pot.
  2. Pour 3 cups of boiling water over the tea bags and let steep for 15 minutes.
  3. Pour the sugar into a large pitcher, and remove the teabags from the boiling water, but do not squeeze them out.
  4. Pour the hot water over the sugar and stir to dissolve, then add 8 cups of cold water.
  5. Add sliced lemons, or any other fruit you like for a flavorful twist.
  6. Fill glasses with ice, pour the tea over the ice, and garnish as desired with mint or additional fruit.

Notes

Customize your sweet tea with various fruits and herbs; consider using less sugar or natural sweeteners for a healthier option.
