Savory Slow Cooker Green Beans with Bacon and Onions

  • 1 Pound Fresh Green Beans, Trimmed
  • 2 Tablespoons Olive Oil
  • 3 Cloves Garlic, Minced
  • 1 Onion, Chopped
  • Salt and Pepper to Taste
  • 1/2 Cup Vegetable Broth or Water
  • 1 Teaspoon Garlic Powder
  • 1 Teaspoon Onion Powder
  • Optional: Bacon or Ham for Flavor

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Green Beans by placing them in the crock pot and rinsing them under cold water.
  2. Mix the olive oil, minced garlic, chopped onion, salt, pepper, vegetable broth, garlic powder, and onion powder in a bowl.
  3. Combine the oil and seasoning mixture with the green beans, tossing to coat well.
  4. Add bacon or ham, if desired, over the beans.
  5. Cook on low for 4-6 hours or on high for 2-3 hours until tender.
  6. Serve warm as a side dish.
